It is my aim to move people to smile, laugh, and reflect. All my painting have a story, which I tell with pleasure to those who would like to hear it.
Magdalena was born in Rosenheim in Germany, grew up in Holzkirchen, and lived for many years in South Africa.
Travel has always been an aspect of my life, just as painting has …
Often I could not take photographs on my travels, so I painted small paintings on any old paper.
Since my childhood, painting has had a healing, relaxing effect for me. I think I also became an art therapist with this motivation. My specialisation is Colour Dialogue, in which several people paint a painting together.
My original occupation as a Decorator and Visual Merchandiser has enabled me to work creatively with many different materials.
Since 2015 I have been studying at the Kolbermoor Academy under Markus Lüpertz, who due to his personality has become my biggest motivator to explore academic art …
And so painting has become my profession. Many other people, colleagues, teachers, and professors will mould me, however, I know I will always remain myself. Distant countries, travels, animals, nature, and sport were and are my constant companions which are reflected in my painting. It is my aim to move people to smile, laugh, and reflect. All my painting have a story, which I tell with pleasure to those who would like to hear it. They also always have a relation to my personal life and to the current situation in the society in which I presently live.
The symbolism in my paintings is in the foreground, however, it allows everybody enough opportunity for their own interpretation. Breaking taboos, unconventionally, confrontation, and being provocative are qualities which I cannot deny, any one or other painting will show this.
I appreciate feedback about my paintings. Also, every criticism is welcomed.
Painting is a process for me, which becomes more intensive, the more one opens oneself up to other people.
